Established in 1963, the Department of French Language and Literature seeks to contribute to the international exchange of culture and the advancement of Korean culture by fostering linguists, critics, professional translators and leaders of culture-related industries through study of French language and literature in a spirit of criticism that laid the foundation for Western humanities.
The various courses offered cover key areas and theories in French literature, from the Middle Ages to modern times.
The department also specializes in translation to promote the exchange of culture and ideas between Korea and Francophone countries.
